Panphonics Audio Elements

Panphonics audio element operates similarly to the electrostatic operating principle. The element consists of two protective porous surfaces, forming the structure of the element together with a thin plastic film located between the surfaces. The film is charged to vibrate inside the surfaces by electric means with electrostatic forces. Thin structure and low operating voltages make Panphonics Audio Elements a new category of product.

Panphonics Audio Element is inherently a dipole source. Both sides of the surface emit the same audio signal, with reversed phase at the rear side. This results in a momentary increase of sound pressure at one side of the surface along with an equivalent decrease of sound pressure at the other side.

Dynamic voice-coil / cone loudspeakers are quite limited by finite mass, finite cone size, and its resonances, which breaks up the ideal piston motion of the cone at medium and high frequencies. In Panphonics transducers, a very light diaphragm is driven equally at all points of the surface, acting as a constant-phase piston source independent of frequency. This acts as the basis for good sound quality and highly directional properties of Panphonics Audio Elements, compared to other dynamic or flat panel sound technology.

Panphonics Audio Element offers considerable technical advantages over conventional dynamic loudspeaker technology and flat surface speaker technology. Some of the most significant technical advantages are directivity, a nonmagnetic environment, superior sound quality, considerable reduction in mechanical vibration, and an even sound field.

Unique audio features in applications:

Uniform frequency response and phase alignment enable high quality audio to be played with incredible low volumes. This further minimizes overall disturbance of different audio systems in same acoustical space.

Unique structural features:

  • The elements can be camouflaged and hidden in structures and as such be invisible.
  • The exceptionally low weight and thin elements can form larger areas and shapes without affecting sound quality. Custom-made to smaller spesific sizes and forms. Elements can even be bent - audio field will open according the bent.
  • The element surface can be printed to match it to surroundings or used as add - it can be also used as a projection surface.
